The qualifiers for the 2008 Empire State Games will be held at
Mission Fencing Center on May 10th. Preregistraion is on
askfred.net. You must register there.
In addition, you must register at the ESG website
www.empirestategames.org

- Long Island Senior Games
-
The 7th Annual fencing tournament of the Long Island Senior Games will be
held this year at the Island Fencing Academy in Plainview, NY on Saturday
June 14, 2008. Epee and Sabre will close check-in at 2pm and Foil at 4pm.
It is open to all veterans of 50+ with NO geographical restrictions. You
don't have to live on LI!! You must download your registration form
from
www.LongIslandSeniorGames.org and mail it in to them with the
registration fee by May 31, 2008

Congratulations to Alan Kuver for being selected as the Team Manager
for the Cadet/Junior World Championships. Alan's effort has been
invaluable to the Long Island division for so many years we can't
count them. It's great to see him get this recognition.

- Senior Sectional Championship Changes

The Green Mountain Division was unable to find any venues for the only weekend we had available for Senior sectionals... as a result the event has been moved.
What: 2008 Senior Sectional Championships

- Junior Sectional Championship

The Connecticut division got us a great venue for Junior championships.
What: Junior / Cadet Championships
Where: Hopkins Day Prospect School, New Haven, CT
When: May 17th & 18th, 2008
- National Championship Qualifiers

- Athletes should pre-register on www.askfred.net.
- Athletes must have a current USFA membership card / Preferably re-new membership Before coming to the Qualifier. If it is a new membership you must have the receipt for membership renewal.
- Time listed is the end of the registration.
- $25 per event / exact change is appreciated.
- Reminder: Club Owners / Managers will register a team for the Summer Nationals Team Qualifier. Members of the club team must be a member of that club, and would lose eligibility to fence for that club if they have competed representing another club during this fencing season (July 1, 2007 > Present time)

This is rippling over to US events, so if you plan on attending
a NAC, you might want to Watch this - it explains the new thinking very clearly.
